Xbox 360 wireless adapter

The Xbox 360 wireless adapter is a dual band wireless bridge, powered by USB and is particularly designed for Xbox 360. It has some fantastic features which make gaming simple and hassle free. Some of them are mentioned in the succeeding paragraphs. Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter The best part of Xbox 360 wireless adapter is the dual band functionality, which means it can support two frequencies at a time. Though 802.11g is the widely used Wi-Fi bandwidth, it utilizes the same band as used by cordless telephones and microwave ovens. This may result in some interference, though it depends where your Xbox 360 is placed with reference to other gadgets using the same bandwidth. In case your router enables use of 802.11a, which works well within a range of 5 GHz, it is the best option you might have. The other fantastic feature of Xbox 360 wireless adapter is that it is powered by USB and can be easily connected at the back of the console, without hideous cables hanging about. This also frees the Ethernet port, the reason for which is not known so far. Also the compact size of this adapter makes it a must have accessory for your Xbox 360, especially if you are into network gaming. Another fantastic aspect of Xbox 360 wireless adapter is that it requires hardly any installation procedure and can be used by simply attaching it at the back of the Xbox 360 console. There is no need to get it configured through a PC, just plug into your Xbox 360 and start gaming. Though small in size, the bandwidth and signal strength of Xbox 360 wireless adapter is simply outstanding. It provides uninterrupted signal even in presence of other appliances such as a cordless phone and microwave oven. It is an ideal accessory for...

How to Make Xbox 360 Wireless on a Budget

I love playing on Xbox Live, but my Xbox is in a different room than my router. So I have an annoying cable running all around my house. The wireless adapter that Xbox sells is $100. I knew there had to be a cheaper way. A wireless router is needed to make this work. Go to DD-WRT website and check for routers that are compatible. Maybe you have an old one that will work or you might have to buy one. Check eBay for a good deal or get a new one, either way you will not have to spend $100. Follow the instructions corresponding to your router. Connect the router to the computer via Ethernet cable and update the routers firmware with the DD-WRT software. Enter the router’s IP address into a web browser. This will bring up the DD-WRT interface page. Switch the router setting’s to “client mode”. Client mode enable the router to receive an internet signal. Disconnect the router from the computer. Connect the router to the Xbox with a short Ethernet cable. Restore the original network settings on the computer. Power up console and connect to Xbox Live. The Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller

The Xbox 360 controller continues the evolution of the Xbox controller S. The expansion/memory card bays have been removed and the awkwardly placed buttons of the controller S have now been relocated to more convenient places. The back and start buttons have moved from the left face of the controller to the center. And the black and white buttons have been transformed into shoulder buttons. What is novel about this is that the Xbox 360 controller now has one set of shoulder buttons like the Playstation controller and one set of triggers like the GameCube & Dreamcast controllers - a best of both worlds kind of solution. The spherical logo/button in the center of the controller is used to access the Xbox 360 user interface and can also be used to turn the Xbox 360 on or off.  There are four lights around the button to indicate which player the controller is. The controller comes in wired and wireless varieties.  The wireless controller may use either a rechargeable battery pack or standard AA batteries.  The battery pack may be recharged by plugging the controller into the Xbox 360's USB port.  There is also a small button on the back of the controller which is used to set the radio link to the Xbox 360 - it is normally only set once or when you want to switch the controller to use a different Xbox 360.  Lastly, there is a headset/microphone connector on the front of the controller for Xbox Live use. This wireless controller has been modified to allow a player to rapid fire a weapon which does not normally have rapid fire capability.  Fully tested and guaranteed to work.   Works with shooter type games as such as COD: Black Ops, Halo Reach, Halo 3, Gears of...

How to Replace a DVD Drive on a XBox 360

The Xbox 360 uses a DVD drive to play game discs. A defective DVD drive renders the game console unusable and must be replaced if you are to continue playing games. Replacing the DVD drive requires opening up the Xbox which can be done at home with only a few tools, although you will have to get a replacement DVD drive from an Xbox 360 parts supply store. Replacing a DVD drive on a XBox 360 does not requires any electronic skill but it is not a casual repair.   1.  Put the newspaper down on a table. Remove all cords from the Xbox 360 and set it face up on the newspaper. Squeeze both sides of the front of the faceplate with the left hand. Insert two fingers of the right hand into the door at the bottom of the faceplate and pull up to remove the faceplate.   2.  Push the top of the right side panel inward. Insert the long thin stick between the panel and into the casing. Use the stick to release the four tabs holding the gray piece of plastic inside to the case. Press the power button on the front of the Xbox 360. Repeat the process to release the tabs from the gray piece of plastic inside the case on the left side of the console.   3.  Put the Xbox 360 face down on the newspaper. Lift up the bottom shelf and use the star screwdriver to remove all of the screws that are now exposed. Put the Xbox 360 back face up on the newspaper. Pull off the top casing. Remove the side panels and the back panel from the bottom of the Xbox 360's case.   4.  Locate the DVD drive that is near the center of the circuit board and is the only big metal box inside of the bottom case. Remove the screws holding it to the bottom casing using the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the screws on the side of the...
