Professional Xbox Hard Drive Installation

The Xbox 360 is a home gaming console that allows you to play movies, media and Xbox 360 games on your home television. The Xbox hard drive is an add-on attachment that is specifically made for the Xbox 360 console. Installing a hard drive will expand your console's memory and allow you to save more data and media on the console itself. The hard drive is made so that anyone should be able to install it without the need of a professional.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

  1. Turn off and unplug your Xbox 360 system during the installation.
  2. Press the release button located on the top of the Xbox 360 system and remove the cover from the console's hard drive bay. You will see the indented area on the top of your console where the new hard drive will fit.
  3. Position the hard drive over the bay. The flat side of the hard drive should be facing downward with the release button towards the front of the console.
  4. Place the back of the hard drive against the back of the console, then lower the hard drive into the bay.
  5. Secure the front of the hard drive into the bay. You will hear the drive click when this is complete.
  6. Plug in your Xbox 360 and turn it on. It will now detect the hard drive as a memory component on the main Xbox System menu.
