This is a tutorial on how to use an xbox 360 wired or wireless controller (wireless controller needs wireless networking adaptor) with a mac for gaming. This also works with guitar hero controllers and rockband controllers etc.

First off you need to download two pieces of software

Gamepad Companion which can be found here:
http://www.carvware.com/gamepadcompanion.html (only a free trial but just download it again once the trial ends.)

Xbox 360 Controller Driver which can be found here:
http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Pro...ller/OsxDriver

Then you install them
They should be installed in your System Preferences.
Plug in your controller either the wired controller via usb or for the wireless controller plug in the adaptor and then link the controller to the adaptor

Open up Xbox 360 controller driver, Hit a few keys to see if it works.
then open up gamepad companion, and then select on the left hand pane
Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired controller or Xbox 360 Wireless Controller.

Depending on what game you wish to play you set the keys to different buttons
Say if u want the RB on the controller to be say L on the key, in Gamepad Companion you press the RB on the controller and then there should be a Title that says no action then click on the drop down menu select single key then type in say L then click start and it will start emulating the letter L when you press RB

How to Transfer a Mod to Xbox 360

 1. Connect your Xbox 360 hard drive to your computer using the transfer cable. Once connected, launch Xplorer 360.

 2. Open the "Drive" menu on the Xplorer 360 toolbar. A drop-down menu appears. Select "Open" and then choose "Harddrive or Memcard." A list of the hard drive partitions will appear in the left sidebar. Select "Partition 3."

 3. Check with your mod's user guide or website to find the appropriate folder to store the mod. This folder will most likely be located within the "Content" or "Cache" directory. Click and drag the mods from your desktop to the appropriate folder to transfer them onto your Xbox 360. Depending on the mod you are using, additional configuration may be necessary.

Tips & Warnings

    When using software mods, there’s always a risk of major or permanent damage. Read the instruction for the mod carefully before installing it.

    If you are caught using a modified Xbox 360, you can be suspended or banned from Xbox Live.

Why Is My XBox 360 Headset Always Broadcasting?

Online multiplayer games are always more fun when you can communicate with the people you're playing with, but a good time can go bad if your headset is malfunctioning. Xbox 360 headsets are designed to be voice activated and should only broadcast when you speak. If you are in a game and other people are complaining about excessive noise from your headset, there are a few simple things you can try to correct the problem.

 Check Your Connections

 The first things you should check are your physical connections and power sources. Disconnect and reconnect your headset from the controller. If you are using a wireless headset, press the "Connect" button on the console, then press and hold the "Connect" button on the headset to reconnect the headset. If you are using a wired controller, disconnect and reconnect it. Try using fresh batteries; if your device is rechargeable, make sure it is fully charged. You can also try to connect the headset to a different controller.

 Eliminate Ambient Noise
 Since the Xbox headset is voice activated, it could be that ambient noise is causing the microphone to constantly broadcast. Loud music, nearby conversation, noisy appliances and even the game's sounds can cause the microphone on the headset to activate. Eliminate or reduce as much ambient noise as possible and see if the problem is corrected. Heavy breathing has also been known to cause the headset's microphone to activate, so don't keep the microphone too close to your mouth.

 Check for Interference

 2.4 gigahertz wireless signals from wireless networks and cordless phones, microwave ovens, mobile phones and Bluetooth signals can all interfere with the Xbox headset. Unplug or disable any such devices and see if the headset begins working properly. Even if you're solely using wired devices, certain radio waves and wireless signals can interfere with your headset. You can also try positioning yourself closer to the console to reduce interference.

 Defective or Broken Headset

 If you have exhausted all of your options and your headset is still malfunctioning, it could be that it is broken or defective. Contact Xbox Support to report your problem. If the headset is still under warranty you should be able to get it replaced. Keep in mind that you will need the headset's product number when you ask for a replacement.

There are so many Xbox 360 games released in a year nowadays with some of these games never living up to expectation. How to Fix XBox 360 E79 Error

Error code E79 on an Xbox 360 means you may have a faulty hard drive. This may be due to the hard drive not being connected correctly and can be fixed in a few steps. If, after following troubleshooting steps, the error does not resolve itself, you may need to purchase a new hard drive.

Instructions

   1. Locate the hard drive on the Xbox 360. If your Xbox 360 is laying down, the hard drive will be located on the left hand side of the Xbox 360.

   2. Unplug all cables attached to the Xbox 360.

This is a compilation of several Indiana Jones-esque on-rails games. In the ride you must duck to avoid obstacles, jump when needed

and try to grab targets when they get close at you (moving your body and your arms, of course!) Anothyer cool feature in this game is that a floating camera will appear halfway through the level. At that point you are supossed to strike a crazy pose; at the end level you'll be able to see the weird photo and laugh a it! (at least that's the purpose of it)

3. Dance Central

Dance Central may look like another boring casual game, but this game could actually be the key to Kinect's success. It does exactly what you are thinking, monitor your dance moves and tell you if you are doing it right.

There is a fun competitive multiplayer and many different songs, so (if done right) this could be THE party game and Kinect's main selling point, and definitely among the best Xbox Kinect games.

2. Child of Eden

Child of Eden is a game with a lot of potential. The premise is simple: a huge archive with the knowledge of all humanity has been

infected with a strange virus and is at risk of being completely erased. Your objective is to fight huge hordes of amorphous enemies by shooting and killing them. The amazing thing here is that you must shoot at the enemies by using only your hands (Minority Report style), like that "pew-pew" game we all played when we were kids.
It looks really fun and inmersive, so be sure to keep an eye on this game!

Best Co-Op Games for Xbox 360

A list of 5 of the best co-op games available for Xbox 360. More and more Xbox 360 single player games are introducing co-op modes (e.g. hoard modes) because it seems that we can't get enough of them.

What Makes a Great Co-Op Game?

One of the most important aspects of some of the best co-op games, in my opinion, is that they usually have an amazing replay value so that you don't find yourself sighing when you have to restart it all over so you can play it with a new friend. In fact, you look forward to it.
The games chosen for this Top 5 all have a great replay value so you can be sure to find yourself wanted to play them again and again.

No. 5: Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2's campaign and multiplayer features are based almost entirely on co-op play. There is an option to play the various campaigns as a single player with the other characters being controlled by AI but, especially in harder difficulty settings the AI dies so regularly that it is frustrating enough to drive players to the co-op campaigns.
Left 4 Dead 2 offers the option to play co-op online with up to four people with AI taking over if someone disconnects from the game. This can be very frustrating if you are playing on Expert because if someone leaves a game in the middle of a fight with a Tank for example, it can really let the whole team down.

Left 4 Dead 2 made it into this top 5 of best co-op games because it is so much fun and it places a huge emphasis on the hoard/survival game type that has proven very popular in the last few years (e.g. Call of Duty Nazi Zombies). As well as having co-op campaigns, it also includes a co-op multiplayer with various game types where you can also play as an infected. I particularly like playing as an infected because it can be pretty difficult to actually get to the survivors without being gunned down, making it very satisfying when you do.

No. 4: Spec Ops (Modern Warfare 2)

When Modern Warfare 2 was released first the Spec Ops mode was popular for a little while, but it eventually fizzled out and was overshadowed by Call of Duty's ever popular online multiplayer mode.
I like Spec Ops because a lot of co-op games are either campaign or hoard based, but Spec Ops was a whole bunch of different challenges and some of them were really hard to get perfect. Admittedly, there are some Spec Ops challenges that I remember only through a haze of frustration. That means it was also challenging which, in my opinion, should always be a part of a good video game.
I think that Spec Ops was a great concept and probably would have been a lot more successful if it had not been instantly compared to the multiplayer feature, which was inevitable.

No. 3: Gears of War 2

When it comes to Gears of War, I must admit I find it very hard to decide whether I prefer the original or Gears of War 2. In my mind they are both great, but I have included Gears of War 2 for the purpose of this list of Xbox 360 co-op games because it includes the added bonus of the Horde game mode.
The Gears of War 2 campaign can be played online or via split-screen by two players. I adored playing the co-op campaign, especially because it allowed each player to play on a different difficulty setting which is very rare in a co-op mode. Not everyone is going to be able to keep up on the Insane difficulty so being able to play on different settings allowed me to play with more friends and enjoy it a lot more.
The Gears of War 2 Hoard mode is a simple but very effective idea; fight off waves of enemies with your friends. It is so much fun and does require teamwork because enemies can, and do, strike from several directions at once. Players have to plan a defense and watch each others' backs. How could enemies as meat-shields with your friends not be fun?

No. 2: Resident Evil 5

Some hard core Resident Evil fans may

hate me for this, but I actually really enjoyed playing Resident Evil 5. It was fast-paced, and very challenging on the higher difficulties - especially if you are playing with the AI, which in all honestly just made me wait until I could play with a friend. Upgrading guns and having infinite ammo gave Resident Evil 5 great replay value. I remember wanting to do it all again almost as soon as I finished the campaign. The co-op mode isn't limited to split screen either, as it allows you the option of having other online players drop in and out of your game. The only time this feature really frustrated me was during one of the sections where the characters has to do some moves simultaneously and the other person just refused to be helpful. Unfortunately, this is simply a risk of playing any game online that requires any amount of co-operation from other people.
Resident Evil 5 had enough variety in its gameplay, weapon choices and a large enough selection of enemies to keep me and a friend engaged enough to play it twice, which is no meat feat in my books.

No. 1: Call of Duty Zombies

I think that the replay value for the Call of Duty Zombies game mode lies in the fact that you don't have to wait around or get involved in a story - you find a game and wait for the zombies to start piling up. This makes it similar to the multiplayer mode as it is almost a form of grinding – you are simply killing enemies over and over again to get points so you can buy better weapons and more ammo. Another attraction is the achievements, which are notoriously difficult and complicated in the more recent maps, making them all the more fulfilling when you get them.
The Call of Duty Zombies mode is number one in this top 5 list because it is unbelievably addictive, and immensely enjoyably to play alone, with friends or online. Furthermore, it is still challenging. I can't quiet put my finger on what makes zombies so addictive, but it seems the designers have found the right mix of a horde, stand-alone challenges, enemy types and bosses to make a game that could easily be sold on its own - without being a part of Call of Duty.

First of all you want to download the software from Microsoft which will allow you to use your  wired Xbox 360 controller to play PC games. You can find it at Microsoft Downloads.
Just fill in the relevant details, download the file and install it on your PC.
Some versions of Windows will automatically detect the controller when you plug it in and prompt you to update your system with the relevant drivers. You can try this first if you don’t want to download the software separately.
Once the software is installed you can plug your Xbox 360 controller into your USB port on your computer. To ensure it is working correctly select Game Controllers in the Control Panel in Windows.
Not all games support the controller; you can check the game manual to see whether your game does.

Downloading Profiles for Easy Configuration

Since the controller isn’t supported by all games and setting up configurations for different games can be tricky you can also download configurations set up by other people which will save you the hassle. Some of these can be found for free. For example if you want to play World of Warcraft using your Xbox 360 controller then try out the free Switchblade software from developer Blue Orb.
Alternatively if you are willing to shell out a little more cash you could opt for the Pinnacle Game Profiler. This software comes with a number of configurations for top titles which you can download and makes setting up your Xbox 360 controller to play your PC games nice and easy. It currently costs $19.95.
