If you have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive
Solution 1: Make sure your hard drive is attached
- Locate the hard drive on the top of your console (or on the left side, depending on how your console is oriented).
Note Not all Xbox 360 consoles include a hard drive. - Make sure the hard drive is correctly attached to your console. For information about how to attach a hard drive, see the following Knowledge Base article:
- Turn your console off, and then turn it on again.
- Check if your hard drive is listed. Here's how:
- Go to the Settings hub, and choose System.
- Select Storage.
Solution 2: Turn your console off and back on again
- Turn your console off, and then remove the hard drive.
- Turn your console on, wait for it to start up, and then turn it off again.
- Reattach the hard drive to the console, and then turn the console on again.
- Check if your hard drive is listed. Here's how:
- Go to the Settings hub, and choose System.
- Select Storage.
Solution 3: Try another console or another hard drive
- Try one or both of the following:
- Attach your hard drive to another console.
- Attach another hard drive to your console.
- After you have done one of those two things, check if your hard drive is listed:
- Go to the Settings hub, and choose System.
- Select Storage.
